I'm a true Sherpa evangelist. You won't find a better test prep company than Sherpa. They're not in it for the money, Sherpa could easily charge far more than they do for their high-touch model and the quality of their services. Nafeez and Nasheed are brilliant, yet find ways to explain things in ways that are simple and stick. No question is too stupid, and they are always, and I mean ALWAYS, willing to go over a problem or a concept until you get it. If you never quit, then neither will they. I worked extensively with Sherpa, both on the GMAT and the GRE, and they were there each step of the way as I gained admission to a top 10 business school. This tremendous life accomplishment wouldn't have been possible without Sherpa's disciplined, compassionate approach. Their relentless desire to see each student succeed is what drives them to be the best. Sherpa has done EXTENSIVE research: their insights into test prep, test strategy, and admissions counseling has created a process that works and yields real results. I can't recommend Sherpa enough. It's one of the best investments I've ever made!

Sherpa Prep leads an excellent GRE prep course! It’s a rigorous 8-week program with all the guidance, materials, homework, and ad-hoc support you could ever desire. The course structure is exceptional - starting with the quantitative and qualitative foundations and ramping up to cover all of the quant/qual topics that the GRE could potentially throw at you, so that students starting off with a strong base and aiming for 165+ can attain their goals. They also offer free office hours every Sunday as well as majorly reduced one-on-one tutoring fees. But most importantly, the instructors are AWESOME. Tae was by far one of the best teachers I’ve ever had (kindergarten - masters degree). He was super attentive, fun, challenging, and expertly organized and taught the information to a pretty diverse class. Tae was always responsive to queries outside class hours via email and phone, and took the time to review each student’s error logs to provide tailored study programs and guidance on where to focus study efforts. I only had 8 weeks to study, and Tae helped me increase my quant score by 12 points and qual score by 7 points.

3 months ago I googled 'best GRE class DC' and found Sherpa. I'm not sure why, but I was skeptical of something with so many 5 star reviews, how could anything be so universally good. But here I am, at the end of my course logging my own 5 star review. Jay and the Sherpa team are incredible. I came into the class with high expectations and good but not great scores and by the end earned a 328 on the first try, up from 310 when I started the class. Jay is unique, his lectures stick in your head and he manages to be an effective teacher across quite disparate skill levels. He understands how to pressure his students toward success (in the way they hoped when their better selves signed up for the class originally) and balances frankness with encouragement. The wealth of resources that Sherpa provides are also especially cogent. And, as if to give warranty on the product of success, our whole class was told that not only would Jay be available via email at any point in the future, but that if we felt it was necessary we could retake the whole course over again free of charge. I'm quite satisfied with my Sherpa experience!

When I read all of Sherpa Prep's five star reviews, I wondered how such a mass of people could be so ride or die for a test prep company... Well now I know. The team at Sherpa prep is as skilled as it is compassionate. The GRE process is undeniably a total sufferfest, but Nafeez, Jay and Nasheed, and the rest of their team, humanize the process and make it very doable. You also could not find a team of people who care as much about your success on the test as they do. The instructors teach and tutor all day long, move mountains to accommodate your needs, and then between the late evening hours and early AM, respond to emails and texts from their students. Lastly, In addition to the classes and the material Sherpa will give you, they also allow you to sit in on extra classes or makeup classes for only $10 per class and offer extremely discounted tutoring hours at $50/hr to class students. They give you all the tools to succeed and all the support to not have a breakdown along the way. Thank you Nafeez, Jay, and Nasheed, and the entire Sherpa Prep team! Thank you for all your help!

I don't often write reviews, but I feel motivated to do so because I feel like my experience at Sherpa was really exemplary. Jay, our teacher, really went above and beyond to help everyone succeed. He offered personal attention each class, and was extremely available if we had any questions in between classes. He has 15+ years of experience teaching, and it shows. He brought a lot of patience to the experience, and I felt like he was really a teacher who cared about us understanding the material and succeeding on the test. When our class needed extra help, he even offered us additional office hours to give us more help. The class size was very small -- 10 people -- and was an intimate, supportive environment. Classes were split pretty evenly between math and reading prep, with an emphasis on math, as 99% of the class attendees were there to strengthen their math skills. Comparing my experience to my boyfriend's experience taking one of the big business test prep classes, I think that mine was far superior. I feel that I got great value for my money and a great class overall.

I'm a terrible test taker and have done a bunch of prep courses over the years--Princeton Review for the SAT, Kaplan for the GRE, Testmasters when I foolishly thought I wanted to go to law school--and none of them compare with Sherpa. I had heard great things about Sherpa Prep from a friend, so I reached out and ended up working with Nasheed. She was amazing. I haven't done math in 15+ years, and she taught me strategies for tackling tough questions, and explained the content in a really accessible way. I've never had a better math teacher. She was able to identify my weak points and really work them over with me. My score jumped ten points from 151 to 161. Sherpa's books are also great. I learned so much from them. They're extremely easy to follow, with tons of practice questions. Also, the videos that explain the practice questions do so in a clear and accessible manner. Amazing! After struggling big time with the SAT and GRE, knowing that my scores won't be a weak point in my apps is a huge relief. I couldn't have reached my goal scores without Nasheed and Sherpa!!
