Real student reviews from Google, Yelp! and Trustpilot.

Sherpa is hands down the absolute best GMAT/GRE prep service in the game. Nafeez and team are literally miracle workers. The content that they've prepared: packets, test taking strategy, application support, even general matriculation strategy are totally out of this world.

The best thing about Sherpa is how invested they are in you as a student. It took me damn near a full 2yrs to "pass" the GMAT and I wholeheartedly believe it's because I didn't come to Sherpa first. Nafeez on day one knew everyone's name, our general backgrounds, our struggle points. Whatever. And the next year still knew all of the same information about me. He's been in the game so long he knows what levers to pull to get you motivated, what you need to do to succeed, and when to tell you to abandon something. As much as the program is a series of classes, you really feel like you're on a one on one personalized journey every step of the way.

The best part of being on the journey so long was seeing Sherpa's growth. They implement feedback immediately and can easily see what's working well and what's not. Some of my favorite highlights:

1. They're now a full service shop. From the day you open your textbook to the day you hit submit they have test materials, essay review, interview prep, and one on one ask me anything type review to get you there.
2. Retake one time for any reason at all. I took the course all the way through twice. And you could pay a nominal fee to retake certain struggle classes.
3. The app! Having material on an app instead of having to lug textbooks and printouts around all the time was great.
4. Ease of access. Everyone on that team is available damn near all the time. If you have a question pop up, got to a Sunday review session, schedule a 15min check-in on your progress, shoot them an email and get a response almost immediately.
5. They're REAL. No sugar coating, no bullshit. They will tell it like it is and meet you where you're at to get you through. If you are too hungover to take a practice test. Fine. It happens. Let's move on to the next day. They're not going to waste your time nor theirs telling you you messed up and they will do everything in their power to see you through the finish line.

I'm at Duke's Fuqua School of Business now with a full-tuition scholarship. Sherpa is a HUGE part of the reason I'm here.

Unlike any other GMAT prep company, Sherpa Prep should be renamed to "Sherpa Experience" because you will receive an all-encompassing preparation for all things related to the business school application process. Once you enroll in a class, you join the "Sherpa Family" and they will hold your hand to guide you along the entire business school journey. This company is committed like no other to ensuring you are not only successful on the GMAT but also in the business school process. Starting with my first GMAT class, my instructor, Nafeez, took time to provide business school application tips on all aspects (resume, interviews, essays, recommendations, etc). Sherpa does provide admissions consulting services to only Sherpa students, but I found that Nafeez was happy to share any information or answer questions we had regarding admissions at any point in time. For all the services you receive, the course pricing is a steal.

Methodology
Sherpa compares the GMAT studying process to playing basketball. The course is broken into two phases with your instructor serving as your "coach" throughout the process (in and out of class time). Phase 1 is where you learn the skills and plays for the game. Phase 2 is where you drill and practice until you're ready to take on Kobe. Throughout phase 1 and 2, you take a practice test every two weeks (just like playing preseason games) to become accustomed to the test conditions and learn how well you're picking up the material. You will only practice with real GMAT questions. Other companies may think they have understood the GMAT, but there's no better way to learn than from the test makers themselves.

Phase 1 consists of the 12 classes plus 18 packets that Sherpa has written themselves using real GMAT questions-- essentially a text book--as well as bi-weekly "experiments" (practice tests). Phase 2 consists of timed practice sessions of math and verbal using a list of real GMAT questions Sherpa has already curated for you.

During Phase 2, you will have regular check ins with your instructor. They also allow you to retake certain classes or even the whole course if you need to. This sets Sherpa apart from all other companies and shows their dedication to your success.

Class & Instructor
The class is 3.5 hours long for 9 weeks for 12 classes total. This translates to 40 hours of class time; much more than most other companies offer. My class occurred on Tuesday evenings. I'm typically an early bird and was worried about a long class after work; however, these classes are fast paced. There was not one instance in which I was ever bored or became tried; Nafeez's teaching style was captivating. On most nights, I left the class with more energy than I entered!

I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Nafeez. The Sherpa instructors are the best in DC because they KNOW this test and they truly want you to crush it. Nafeez's knowledge, strategies, tips, and tricks are magical and mind boggling at times, but I was more impressed by his dedication to his students. He remembers small tidbits you tell him and he makes the class fun and comical at times. There is no one that wants you to succeed more than him and that is a true differentiator between any other company.

Let me start off by saying that choosing Sherpa Prep was one of the best investments I have ever made. Nafeez, Jay, Nasheed, and the rest of the team are incredible. It is without reservation that I can say that Sherpa Prep is the reason why I will be starting at a top 20 business school in just a few short months.

I was recommended to Sherpa by a friend who, much like me, knew that getting through the GMAT or the GRE was going to be the biggest hurdle in the application process. For me, I was facing math I hadn’t seen in at least 10 years and test anxiety. I had nine years of work experience in political fundraising and nonprofits, but no traditional business background. In the end, I made an over 140 point jump between my first GMAT score and my final GRE score (based on GMAT/GRE conversion). Nafeez helped me see the light that my application was stronger by submitting the GRE.

Sherpa Prep is a one stop shop and truly cares about their students. They’re invested in seeing students succeed. Nafeez has been with me every step of the way, including cultivating my list of schools, reading essays, reducing test anxiety and providing strategic advice along the application journey. He always made himself accessible via email or tutoring sessions to help me sort through problem sets or strategy.

If you put in the work, then Sherpa Prep will help you get the results you want and you’ll even have some fun in the process!

For anyone looking to take the GMAT I would highly recommend taking Sherpa Prep's GMAT Course.

I started my GMAT journey in January 2017 and opted to purchase an online class from EMPOWERGmat. I went through the online curriculum and took the free practice tests online to gauge my progress. From my class and practice test scores I was expecting to be in the mid 600 range. I was incredibly disappointed when I took the official test in May 2017 and scored a 550.

I realized I need to take others advice and bite the bullet and shell out for an actual class. I had done research and spoken friends, the program that kept coming up was Sherpa Prep. I signed up in June for the 9 week course and honestly it was the best thing I did. My instructor was Nafeez and the course was AMAZING. Not only was the curriculum very well put together, but he made the class fun and engaging.

The GMAT can be a daunting task, however with the right instructor, the right curriculum, and the right attitude you can make it fun. I thoroughly enjoyed going to class every week and once the course was over I continued to do tutoring with Nafeez with the awesome student discount. I am happy to report that in September 2017, just 4 months after the first time I took the GMAT, I improved my score by 110 POINTS and scored a 660!!

If you are considering taking the GMAT and live in the DC area, I would highly recommend that you enroll in Sherpa Prep. Everything advertised on their website is completely true.

The course takes place over a 9-week period. The classes are about three hours long. A typical class will cover both fundamental content and practice questions/solutions. The course syllabus is extensive and will require a dedicated study effort. Sherpa will give you all the tools that you need to dominate the GMAT. In addition to the Official Guide study materials, Sherpa will provide you with access to their elite study packets. These packets are very thorough and cover everything that you need to know.

Nafeez was my instructor, and he was absolutely outstanding. The quality of instruction is top-tier. The small-class size allows for incredible access to the instructor. He was always available for one-on-one meetings before or after class, or during office hours. He was also extremely responsive by e-mail. Sherpa definitely provides a personalized experience. They will know you by-name. They also stress that you are a Sherpa student for life, and they will continue to offer help for as long as you are studying for the GMAT.

Enrolling in Sherpa is a worthwhile investment. I can't imagine taking the GMAT without Sherpa Prep. Altogether, my score increased by 100 points. Sherpa Prep has my highest recommendation.

I stumbled upon Sherpa while doing a preliminary search for GMAT prep in the DC area and I attended a free sample class. A few things stood out in particular:

1. Smaller class size where the instructor, Nafeez, was actively engaged with each student.
2. Based on the way he was asking questions, I could tell he tailored his examples/explanations to address various learning styles. Then, he would make sure to spend time and explain in a way that everyone could understand in case anyone felt like they still did not get it.
3. He was blunt. Now this may sound odd or intimidating, but it's actually quite refreshing because he not only can point out what your weaknesses are, but also provides solutions to overcome those weaknesses.

When I started the class in May 2018, Nafeez conducted it in the same way as the sample class helping me understand the material and concepts in the way the testmaker made the test. Test prep companies tend to give you the solution and quickly move on, but Sherpa's instructors really take the time to break down the problem and talk through various ways to solve it.

There is definitely an element of self-interest in that it's up to you on how much work you want to put into the course to improve, but Sherpa gives you all the tools and resources to make a difference in your score. They are very invested in you because they care so I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a GMAT/GRE prep course. Don't expect to come in and learn everything in a few classes because practicing their techniques is where it takes time, but proves to be worth it.

Lastly, I want to say thank you to Nafeez for being such an awesome instructor and saying it how it is because I could be more honest with myself about where I was and how much work I needed to do. It's truly helped me move forward in the process.

If you're aiming for an elite GMAT score (700+), Sherpa Prep is 100% the course for you. They have truly "hacked" the GMAT and designed a comprehensive course that makes conquering the GMAT simply a matter of how much time/effort you put in.

My course instructor was Nasheed, who was fantastic, but I also worked with two other GMAT instructors, Nafeez and Erin, during makeup classes and office hours. All of Sherpa's instructors are incredibly smart (they all scored like 790s or something insane) and teach both content and testing strategies. In addition to the learning side of the course, all of the instructors set aside "check-ins" with each student. They all are invested in your learning and take the time to encourage you along the way.

The course is broken down into two parts: Phase 1 (all the classes) and Phase 2 (drilling practice problems in a strategic way). Phase 1 goes over math/verbal content and all these short-cuts/tips/tricks that you absolutely need to answer the questions quickly. Phase 2 is a formulated review series where you go through several practices tests a week. Overall, I spent about 4 1/2 months from start to finish. You're advised to wait until Phase 2 starts to schedule your exam.

Sherpa provides the official GMAT guide textbooks, 18 "sherpa packets" (basically their own textbook of notes), 2 additional MBA.com official practice tests, free office hours, and free "check-ins" throughout Phase 1 and 2. They also let you take class repeats for a small fee (I think $25/class). I did 3 of these "targeted repeats" to keep everything fresh as I was getting closer to the test - definitely worth it. The value of this course is undeniable. It's a good deal and worth every penny.

I highly recommend Sherpa to anyone taking the GMAT - and, knowing the quality of the GMAT course, I'm sure their GRE courses are top notch as well.

I thought the name "Sherpa" referred to the help the agency would provide in navigating the journey through the GMAT process (mainly preparing for the test). In reality, Nafeez provided excellent instruction beyond the math and verbal sections of the exam. Through 12 expertly led classes, we discussed the material as well as resumes, letters, visits, etc. I very much appreciated the holistic approach Sherpa Prep offers.

Beyond that, I can tell you that instructor Nafeez is an engaging, fun and interesting teacher (that mattered to me when taking a class 6-10pm on a weekday after a full day of work/other activities). He explains concepts well and speaks clearly. I cannot speak highly enough of this class and company.

I can't recommend Sherpa highly enough - not only has the course helped me to produce a winning GMAT score (go Duke!), but I have also learned the foundations that I will need to be successful in business school. I hadn't had any math instruction beyond 2 basic years in high school, and Nafeez's instructions and coaching helped me to get where I need to be and truly understand the concepts.

His admissions counseling services are also outstanding - he really helped me to find my voice in my applications and highlight the professional experience that made my application stand out. As a result, I have currently made the first round of cuts at all of the schools I have applied to and feel prepared to succeed no matter where I go.

There's no other place to go for business school and GMAT prep!

I would highly recommend Sherpa's GMAT course. I did a lot of research before enrolling in this course and i am confident that I made the rite choice. The course is very well designed over a period of two months. Nafeez is a phenomenal instructor. He puts in a lot of time and effort with his students and tries to understand what issues every individual is facing and then tries to work with you to achieve your goal. One thing that i particularly found very useful were the one on one tuition sessions with Nafeez. I would try meet Nafeez once a week or once in two weeks and try go over my maths and verbal problems. If you are enrolled in the Sherpa course, the one on one tuition sessions only cost $50 ( One hour), which is very reasonable and you can gain a lot out of them.

The material that is provided to you at the beginning of the course is really useful and the strategies that are taught in-class by Nafeez are great. Nafeez also gives you a very detailed phase 2 plan for once the class in finished and the way he has designed that is really helpful and keeps you on track.

Overall the course is great and I think its better then anything else out there!

I would highly recommend Sherpa's GMAT class. After studying on my own and taking the test twice (with less than ideal scores), I knew I needed to change my method. The course, which I completed with Nafeez over summer 2017, provided the strategies, content and accountability I needed.

1) All of the materials are provided for you. You receive the official GMAT question books + Sherpa's own materials.
2) Informal learning environment with phenomenal instructors. You have to come to the classes prepared in order to get the most out of them. But the information is taught in a straight forward manner.
3) Great tips and strategies for planning your study schedule and test preparation.

Phenomenal class, got a 700+ score.

Choosing to take GMAT classes through Sherpa prep was the best decision I've made; my only regret is not finding them earlier. Nafeez and his team are fantastic teachers. They are genuinely passionate about each of their students' success; this was exhibited in the classroom and during private lessons.

After the GMAT course, Nafeez helped me define my direction for essays and assisted with overall proofreading. He was an excellent resource, who made me feel more confident throughout the process. Thanks to Sherpa, I am less nervous, and I look forward to hearing back from Programs in the next few months!

Last little note: They are also affordable because they understand the expense of applying to schools.

Nafeez gives not only the best lectures but also immense emotional support. I started taking his class this summer and mid-way through the course, I took the GMAT and got a 660 and a 680. Both of those scores made me think that I could never go above a 700. I started doubting myself and thought maybe I wasn't even fit for an MBA program that the GMAT became such a stressful obstacle to me.

However, Nafeez didn't give up on me. Every time I emailed him right after another failed attempt to improve my score, he told me to keep my chin up. He made me sign up to retake his classes so I could focus on strengthening my verbal. He told me that I could do it, and his persistence made me believe that maybe conquering the GMAT was possible.

I am so so glad that I followed his guidance - my score went up from a 660 to a 740! I really don't think I could have done this without the immense help from Nafeez. Nafeez doesn't just stop at giving great lectures but is there with you every step of the way, supporting your journey as a real sherpa does.

This review is a little late, but I took the GMAT Prep Course with Nafeez last year, and it was worth every penny. This course was instrumental in improving my quant score, as well as my overall GMAT score. The course material provided me some valuable tools and shortcuts to solve seemingly complex quant problems in under 2 minutes. Nafeez is a great instructor, and gets straight to the point. He hammers home the most important concepts during lectures and delivers the material in a way that is clear and easy to grasp and understand.

The course material and lectures are great, but as Nafeez says, a majority of the improvement will come from studying outside of the classes. It is not enough to just show up to the classes and listen to the lectures. If you are attentive during class, and put in the effort outside of class by completing the HW assignments, keeping track of your mistakes on an error log, and revisiting challenging concepts, then I have no doubts that ANYONE can achieve their desired score.

It is no secret that the average GMAT scores at the Top MBA programs have gone up significantly over the past few years (Stanford boasts an insane average GMAT of 740) . I am in the process of interviewing at several top schools right now, and I am confident to say that my GMAT score will not hold me back from these schools. Thanks Nafeez and the Sherpa Team!

Multiple friends of mine recommended Sherpa Prep after taking the class and having all done well on the GMAT. I took their advice, and couldn't be happier with the end result. I did the GMAT class in Arlington with Nafeez, who is one of the best teachers I've ever had (and I've had a lot of good ones!). If, like me, you've forgotten 90% of the math you learned in high school, don't worry you'll learn everything you need to know to ace the GMAT in a short period of time, as long as you're willing to put in the work necessary. Thanks to the classes, assignments, test tips, and strategy for studying after the class ended, I exceeded my target score significantly. Look no further for GMAT prep, Sherpa Prep is awesome!

While beginning to look at MBA programs and GMAT course options, a friend highly recommended the Sherpa Prep GMAT course. I had the opportunity to take the course from Nafeez and had an experience that is helping me to reflect critically on my career trajectory, skills, and weaknesses--all this aside from offering me an extremely targeted and useful instructions re: the GMAT exam.

Here are my two top takeaways from the program : 1) Nafeez is brilliant and extremely funny, and 2) he genuinely cares about the success of his students. Not just in helping us to achieve a better score on the GMAT, but in caring about helping us to unlock the opportunity to attend world-class business schools in order to achieve our goals.

I can't emphasize #2 enough -- Nafeez has offered to provide support after the classroom experience that goes above and beyond what I ever expected from a GMAT program. Even after the course ends, the work does not -- I am still making my way through the packets, and, when you you take the course, which I encourage you to do, you too will understand ...

Going into this experience, I knew that I would need a classroom / in-person instructor in order to get me started on the journey toward b-school. If you have been out of undergrad for a while like me, and you are looking to make a change and/or motivate yourself to strive for something better, then I wholeheartedly recommend the Sherpa Prep experience, and specifically Nafeez as an instructor. Best of luck!

When I decided to take the gmat, I googled many places for a class I found Sherpa because of Yelp and can happily say that this has been the best investment in my MBA journey so far. As someone who's been out of school for awhile, I knew I needed a smaller setting to learn at my best and Sherpa provided just that. Nafeez was great, the materials were great, the plan of attack was great, even the other students were great. I ended up improving my score by 140 points from my practice test. Thank you, Jay and Nafeez. I wish you all much more success!!

This review is long overdue- but I wanted to be able to update it with what schools I got in.

I tried two test prep companies before Sherpa- and by the time I called Nafeez I was at my wits end.  I had been studying for just about a year, had already taken the GMAT twice with minimal increases, and the round 2 decision date loomed.

I 100% credit my jump in score to Nafeez. In my case, it wasn't that he taught me math I didn't know (I had been studying long enough for that)- it's that he gave me the tools to beat my own head and self doubts. He's absolutely no BS and that's exactly what you need.

The reality is that 95% of the work you do on the GMAT will be on your own. Every other prep company focused on the material or "shortcuts" in class, but left me to my own devices the rest of the week without any guidance on how best to study. The structure Sherpa provided me with allowed me to be successful because it taught me how to teach myself.

Thanks in part to my successes with the GMAT, I received offers from 4/5 schools I applied to and am now debating between Kellogg and Tuck. Whenever anyone asks me about application advice for B school- my go to answer is always and without hesitation- Sherpa Prep.

Thank you Nafeez and the Sherpa team!

Doing my GMAT prep with Sherpa Prep was the best decision I've made during this arduous business school application process.

Nafeez is a brilliant teacher and is as real as it gets. He doesn't sugar coat the fact that you need to put in serious time to be really successful on the GMAT, but he gives you everything you need to do well if you put in the work. He helps not only with test content, but also with the general stress and anxiety that comes with such a terrible test. This was my big issue, and Nafeez helped me find the confidence to get it done.

The guys at Sherpa really want to see their students succeed. This is evidenced by their free class retake policy, their discounted tutoring rates for past students (the best private tutoring rates you'll find!) and their accessibility whenever you have questions or concerns. In my experience, they would do whatever they could to help you via email, in person, during the week, on the weekends, etc. The class sizes are small and the experience is much more personal than any nation-wide test prep conglomerate. Nafeez remembered from week-to-week what I was scoring on practice tests, where I was having trouble and what I had been working on on my own. This really added value to my whole experience with Sherpa.

I wholeheartedly recommend this class without reservations to anyone looking to conquer the GMAT. If you're willing to put in the work, Nafeez can help you reach your target score

With Nafeez's help, I was able to get first round admission and scholarship money to three top schools,(Ross, Kenan-Flagler, McCombs), including my top choice! Sherpa Prep is the best gift you can give yourself while applying to business school.

I highly recommend Sherpa Prep. I took the GMAT prep class and with the help of the course materials and instruction was able to turn a 600-650 score when starting out into a 720 on exam day. The instruction is wonderful and that materials will get you to a 700+ as long as you are willing to put in the time and effort.

Nafeez Amin is truly an amazing instructor- clearly and concisely explaining the methodology doing problems in the right way to maximize your score. I never ever heard him provide myself or any other students answers to our questions that were anything less that thorough and helpful. With all questions, no matter how 'simple', Nafeez always gives enough detail and precision that allows students to replicate the process and arrive at the correct answer him or herself. Nafeez is truly committed to helping you achieve the score that you want as long as you put in the effort.

I couldn't be happier with my experience with Sherpa prep- the instructors were generous without fail and combined with the wonderful prep materials they provided  were the best support system I could've asked for in my journey to successfully tackle the GMAT and get the 700+ score I wanted.

Sherpa and Nafeez were wonderful. A friend and I both worked with Nafeez and increased our GMAT scores from OS 590 to 680 and OS 580 to 690, respectively, over the course of about 6 months. We both had taken a Manhattan course together at the 14th Street location the year prior and both topped out at 650 on the actual test. We turned to Sherpa GMAT, and that is what broke the dam. Friend is into Yale, Tuck, Michigan, and I am enrolling at Georgetown. Nafeez is a swiss army knife -- no matter what your weaknesses are, he has seen them before and can turn them into competencies. No matter how incomprehensible a topic or question type may seem, he can help you crack it. I couldn't recommend him more highly. The personal tutor sessions are also worth noting, especially if you have already completed a course and are looking to gain 30 or so points, as I was. I just wish I had found him sooner.

Sherpa Prep is by far the absolute best. They care deeply about their students, the first day of class Nafeez said: "From now on- im on  your boat" and he keeps his promise. My journey has been VERY complicated, I went through a merger at work and it was a difficult year, Sherpa was flexible and showed me how much they cared about my application to the MBA of my dreams. They stuck with me, their classes are the best, they materials are the best, but most of all, the people at Sherpa CARE and that is what makes them so special. They want you to succeed, they want you to get into the school you want and they also do the work to help you get there! I started at 0- really Im probably the worst student they had in terms of Quant skills- Nafeez and other tutors helped me get through it all and I improved so much! I am super grateful to Sherpa!! Also, it is absurd how cheap their programs are- their quality is beyond all other programs and they still charge much much much much less!!

Thank you Sherpa! I wanted to update my review as I just got the call we all wait for!
I was accepted to Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto!
This was my TOP choice and I got in!  I am incredibly grateful for Sherpa for their guidance throughout this entire process!!

The minute I got the call I thought to myself, I have to let everyone at Sherpa know! why? because I know how much they care, they are invested in your success, Don't think twice about going with Sherpa, your future self will thank you for it, you wont regret it!!

I never thought I'd be raving about a GMAT prep class... but if you are tempted to take one, Sherpa Prep is the best value and highest quality out there, hands down. My instructor, Nafeez, defined my experience by holding his students to high standards from the first minute of class. From delivering tough love and motivational speeches to our class when we needed it to troubleshooting questions with me over email at any hour of the day, Nafeez will invest time in you if you're willing to invest time in your GMAT prep. He will more than meet you halfway, which meant a lot to me. One thing I found striking about his teaching style was how he peppered the class and transitioned the material with genuinely interesting stories about his MBA experience and real life application of his business degree, which truly helped to move the three-hour class along quickly.

I had a great experience at Sherpa GMAT prep. I liked the small class size and the vibe of the instructors. Both instructors I had were low-key and good at explaining the concepts. They were very patient, and made sure that everyone in the classroom understood each concept. The Sherpa topic packets were very thorough and informative. Overall, Sherpa has a great framework for preparing students for the test. I would highly recommend Sherpa to anyone in need of a GMAT course. The other benefit is that Sherpa is significantly less expensive than other test prep courses in the DC area.

Sherpa Prep's GMAT prep course is far worth the small investment for the course. Jay and Nafeez truly care about their students doing well on the GMAT and will work hard to ensure you succeed. I was out of their course for over 4 months and finally got a response from my top choice school saying that I needed to increase my GMAT score.  Jay and Nafeez gave me studying tips, analyzed my prep exams, and allowed me to attend classes all at no cost. I believe this example highlights the sharp contrast between Sherpa Prep and other test prep companies who will charge you an outrageous price for their course and not give you the same level of commitment as Sherpa Prep. Thanks to Sherpa Prep I achieved the required score increase and will be attending my school of choice this fall.

I was notified today that I have been accepted to the Georgetown MBA program. I wouldn't have made it to my target GMAT score without Sherpa's help. More than the teaching methods that were standardized and simplified at Sherpa, Nafeez's personal coaching in adapting these standardized teaching guides to my needs and background made all the difference. Nafeez was really committed to teaching us the process and not just test taking skills. I found Sherpa through a friend who was taking her GRE prep classes and highly recommended the classes. My best to Nafeez, Jay and all the wonderful teachers at Sherpa!

Using Sherpa for GMAT prep was a great decision and worth every penny. Before the class, my practice test scores were alright, but I sensed that I was hitting a wall and just couldn't get to the score of 750 or above that I wanted. Sherpa provided exactly what I needed - tricks and strategies to crack each question quickly. No amount of practice problems in the GMAC books you can buy at the bookstore can compare, because in those books they show you how to do each question the long way. Nafeez and Jay at Sherpa teach you the shortest way to do each problem. I guarantee your score will rise 50-100 points or more, depending on your starting point, if you go to each class, read the invaluable packets (those materials are a gold mine unto themselves), and do the homework. Plus, both instructors are incredibly responsive - shoot them an email with a question and you'll get a response no later than the next day. I can't really see how the experience can be improved.

Martin, sooo.... the good news is, I scored a 600, which was exactly what I was hoping to get, and the score was higher than ANY of my practice tests! Man, humming "Eye of the Tiger" on the way to the test really worked!!!

Seriously though, thanks for your really outstanding instruction, I know I couldn't have gotten that score without your help. When I started to get stressed during the test, I would try to mimic my relaxed, happy, but focused mental state that I always had in class when I was getting questions right. It was like having you and my Sherpa classmates with me, and it was reassuring. Thank you SO much for your help, Martin. The tutoring sessions kept me going when I was at a point of very low confidence, and your help pulled me through.

I hope you are well, and good luck with your own studies. Keep in touch, I would love to hear how you are doing. PS. Yeah, I really did hum "Eye of the Tiger" on the way to the test....

Thank you so much for a fantastic class. I got MUCH more than I ever expected. My instructor was extremely knowledgeable and was always happy to answer questions by email and to stay late after class. The note packets were phenomenal. They were vastly superior to everything that I had ever found in a bookstore. They helped me master many of those difficult topics on which I was clueless. I've recommended the course to all my friends. I wish you guys the best of luck!

After bombing my first GMAT I began looking for prep classes to help. I was recommended to Sherpa by a friend and signed up so that my course would finish 2 weeks before my GMAT. The quality of the classes exceeded my expectations. Not only will you learn the overview of what skills you should know, you will look at the questions in depth, and also look at ways to properly solve them and all while managing your time efficiently. My instructors Jay and Nafeez helped me look at questions from a critical view and learn to properly digest what the GMAT is looking for. You success is guaranteed because if you don't do well on the exam, you can even come back and take the courses again for free (but if you pay attention, I honestly doubt you will need to). To anybody about to take the GMAT, I strongly recommend Sherpa Prep.

Get in while you still can. I took the GMAT Prep course through Sherpa, and Jay was my instructor. From a sheer economics standpoint -- the value you will get for what you pay is indisputable. From a teaching standpoint -- Jay can not only teach the material in his sleep, but he makes a concerted effort to figure out each individual student's learning style and to custom-tailor the material accordingly. On top of teaching relevant material, Jay has a humorous delivery that helps keep you awake in spite of the lengthy hours you must spend learning. Finally, the instructors at Sherpa demonstrated a genuine interest in and desire for student success. I cannot recommend Sherpa highly enough.

I took the GMAT on Friday and am very happy with my score. I ended up with a 690! Thank you so much for all of your help. I really don't think that I could have gotten that score without your class. The note packets were great and I think studying them in detail really helped me. Thanks again!

Thanks to your help I scored well on my GMAT and just got accepted into GWU's school of business! I didn't even think I could get in when I applied. I only did so for the purpose of having closure and not left wondering what if. Your class is worth every dollar of that $800. If you ever need me for some sort of survey/testimonial I am more than happy to help. Just let me know.

My reason for emailing is to let you know that I took the test this past weekend. I got a f%^$*@% 600! Can that be real? I was telling my wife beforehand that I would have been devastated to get anything below a 450, and pleased as could be to clear 500. As you can imagine, I'm feeling pretty damn good right about now. I couldn't have done it with out you. I truly appreciate all the time and energy you put into my preparation. I'm your ambassador moving forward.

I just wanted to thank you for all the help you gave me when I took your GMAT prep course. I never let you know how that turned out. I actually scored in the 94th percentile, and I am confident that I would not have been able to do this without the framework you provided for me for the GMAT. The level of [reasonable] difficulty and course work that you required for your class forced me to take an honest look at what I need to do to be successful. If you ever want to use me as "that guy" who was able to turn things around because of your course. I'll work for a very cheap fee, aka nothing.

I feel like I just got beaten up and left for dead. I scored 48 Quantitative, 85th percentile, and 44 verbal, 97th percentile, for a scaled score of 740, 97th percentile. That is a hard test. After I finished the math I was not sure I had much left in me. Thank you again for all of your help. The class was tremendously helpful and I really appreciate what you do and the affordable price at which you do it. If you want me to be a reference or if there's anything else I can do to help please let me know.

I just wanted to express to you how grateful I am for your course prep last fall. I just found out this week that I was accepted into Georgetown's MBA program!!! I'm so excited, and there's no way I could have done it without some awesome GMAT prep. You helped improve my score from the low 500s to 690! Thank you again!

I scored a 680 on the GMAT Saturday. Quantitative - 44, Verbal - 40. I was able to match my highest Math score from the practice tests and raise my highest verbal score 5 points. I probably took the test earlier than I should have, but I am pretty sure a 680 will put me in the thick of it for Georgetown and Smith. Thank you for all your help. I thought your class was excellent and I will definitely recommend it to anyone else considering taking the GMAT!

I wanted to say thank you again for all of your help during the class. You really went above and beyond what I expected and I am truly thankful for this. I am 100% confident that my score was higher than what I would have gotten without taking your class.

Just thought I'd let you know that I took the GMAT on Monday and scored a 610. My score increased dramatically from the 460 or 490 on the first test that I took. I just thought I'd give you a heads-up and thanks A LOT for all of your assistance over the past couple of months. You've been great!

I just thought I would sent you a quick email to let you know what I got on the GMAT. 640 overall with a 44 on math and 35 on verbal. I am unbelievably happy with these scores, and they're much higher than what I needed. So I just that I would let you know you did a great job! Thanks!

I scored a 720, which was my goal after I realized I couldn't commit the time needed to get a 750. I actually could have scored a little better had I not gotten distracted during one of my breaks (pretty girl) and showed up two and a half minutes late for the quantitative section. Thank you for your help and I will definitely send my friends your way should the MBA bug bite them in the future!

I took the GMAT yesterday and scored a 670. Thanks for all of your help and guidance through the course. I found it extremely valuable. I have recommended your course to many of my friends who are studying for the GMAT. Again, thanks for everything! Have a great holiday!

I wanted to let you know that I just retook my GMATs today and my score improved from a 590 to a 680. I am very happy with this score so I doubt that I will ever need to re-take them. I want to thank you for your help during back in the spring, it truly helped. I've recommended you to some friends for the GREs, so hopefully you'll be hearing from them in the near future. Thanks again and take care.

Wanted to let you know I took my exam and got a 660! Thanks so much for all of your help!!! Also wanted to let you know I got a 5 on the essays. Your notes and perspective on that are awesome.

Thanks again for your help with the GMAT. Your class was great and a huge boost to my score. I got accepted to Georgetown's Evening MBA program! I will definitely recommend your class for anyone I know planning to take the GMAT.

Took the test yesterday and scored a 680.  I wanted to thank you for all of your help.  There is no way I could have gotten that score without taking the class.  You are very good at what you do. Hope you have a great Christmas.

I can’t speak for other prep courses - however, I was a part of the Forte MBALaunch program and I can tell you that I was the only one raving about my GMAT course.

My background is a liberal arts undergrad major who has worked in Sales and Recruiting for the past 5 years. In other words, I knew my MBA applications would showcase plenty of “soft skills”, but that I would need to depend more than most on the GMAT to show my ability to think quantitatively.

My teacher was Nafeez and while he teaches bomb strategies to be quicker in the quant section and emphasizes the importance of ace-ing the verbal section, he offers strategies and advice in personal motivation as well. This is one of the hardest obstacles to overcome as a fulltime working professional, but I really found the articles and outside-the-box advice that he sent regularly to be inspirational in helping me keep myself on track. Some memorable quotes: “Showing up is not”; “Quant questions are like music - you just need to learn how to recognize the music and do the right dance”; (that one is paraphrased).

I started with a 560 (without studying) then pretty quickly plateaued to around 650 after about 6 practice exams - this was frustrating, and it’s where the personal motivation became really important. But then something clicked and my last 3 practice exams were 730, 710 and 720. When I took the real exam, I scored a 720 and have since been accepted to UCLA and USC, both with scholarships.

Truthfully I don’t think there is even a point in looking into another GMAT prep course - Sherpa is the best one in the city.

As someone whose taken a Manhattan Prep course, purchased Magoosh GMAT (twice), and even dabbled with Target Test Prep, I'm telling you that this is the only course that you need to take. I almost gave up on the GMAT completely, but Sherpa Prep has given me new life. Nafeez is GMAT guru. If the GMAT was a martial art, Nafeez would be a 10th degree black belt. His methods and tricks that he teaches cannot be found anywhere else. Questions that you think are impossible to solve, Nafeez makes them possible, digestible, and easy! My moral towards the GMAT has improved tremendously since attending this course. I look forward to reviewing, studying, and practicing what I've learned. The materials are extremely thorough and the content is great.

Lastly, but also very important, this course is an absolute steal at $999. Compare the price of this course with the courses of Manhattan Prep, Kaplan, Princeton Review, Veritas, ect,. You won't find a better bargain, and honestly, and I mean this with all my heart, if Sherpa Prep charged $2000, it would still a better investment than the alternatives.

Look no more. Sign up for Sherpa Prep, and you'll be extremely happy that you did.

Sherpa Prep is by far the absolute best. They care deeply about their students. The first day of class Nafeez said: "From now on, I'm on your boat" and he keeps his promise. My journey has been VERY complicated, I went through a merger at work and it was a difficult year, Sherpa was flexible and showed me how much they cared about my application to the MBA of my dreams. They stuck with me. Their classes are the best, their materials are the best, but most of all, the people at Sherpa CARE and that is what makes them so special. They want you to succeed, they want you to get into the school you want and they also do the work to help you get there! I started at 0- really Im probably the worst student they had in terms of Quant skills. Nafeez and other tutors helped me get through it all and I improved so much! I am super grateful to Sherpa!! Also, it is absurd how cheap their programs are- their quality is beyond all other programs and they still charge much much much much less!!

Update: Thank you Sherpa!

Sherpa Prep's GMAT course is in a league of it's own!

I couldn't be any happier with the amount of support I received from Sherpa Prep. My first encounter with them was great, but due to my own schedule conflicts I was not ready to take the GMAT. Thankfully they offer the ability to retake the course, no questions asked. I signed back up and retook it. The amount of support they provided for my second time around has been phenomenal.

The course is very demanding, but if you are able to put in the hours you will get results. The little things that Sherpa will teach you are beneficial even after you take the GMAT. I highly recommend this program for anyone looking to improve their GMAT score and seeking assistance in admissions consultation for graduate school. – Anthony

I began studying for the GMAT over a year ago by enrolling in a Manhattan in-person course. Not seeing the score increases that I wanted, I enrolled in private tutoring through Manhattan. After spending multiple thousands of dollars in preparation, my scores weren't where I needed them to be.

I enrolled in Sherpa Prep as a last effort to try and beat the GMAT. What I found was everything that was missing from the Manhattan way. Instructors who truly care and are deeply invested in the success of their students, prices that are incredibly affordable, and major growth in my scores.

There hasn't been a day that I have regretted enrolling. Nafeez is a brilliant teacher and has developed a curriculum that works for everyone. They are easily the best test prep group in the DC area, and anyone who chooses another company is making the wrong decision.

Sherpa Prep was truly great! I improved my score by 140 points in 5 months. The classes are spot on and teach you tricks and strategies you can't find elsewhere. Above all though, the support once the class ends is huge. You can continue attending office hours and speaking to your instructor (mine was Nafeez and he was great!), and you can also attend Phase II sessions (for once you've finished the packet work they give you). The entire program made this process feel more manageable, and it ultimately paid off!! Highly recommend!!

This company has been essential in my journey to pursuing business school. Starting with the helpful and organized administrative staff, who are always so kind and gracious. They work hard to make sure your enrollment is complete, if you need to reschedule any classes, and answer any questions you may have. The test prep itself is phenomenal!! The course is designed to not only help you get the best score on the GMAT but boost your confidence in ways unimaginable. My instructor Nafeez provided excellent instruction and guidance throughout the course and beyond. He genuinely cares about your success. The other instructors that teach the course are just as personable and skilled to guide you to a winning score. I've taken test prep with other companies but this company is the best hands down on all fronts.

I highly recommend Sherpa Prep to prep for graduate school. The price of the course for 12 classes at 3.5 hours each is well worth it with the quality of information and knowledge of tricks you learn. They give you a very structured lesson plan with tasks to finish each week which will benefit anyone who needs discipline and motivation to start. You do have to put in work outside of the classes to get the results you want but by following their syllabus diligently you'll be glad when you take your exam.

My instructor was Nafeez and the way he teaches is very detailed and insightful. If you have a question never will you feel scared to ask and he will always explain it out to you. The classes might be 3.5 hours but they went by so fast because he incorporates inspirational tips of what business school wants/is, what the GMAT is about, the psychological factors on test day, etc. which also gives a refreshing perspective and makes you strive harder to reach your goal.

They also offer quick chats for students and students who have finished their courses to stay within the Sherpa circle - which are 15 minutes to ask any questions you want (from GMAT studying, the application process, business school questions, stress, anything!!, etc.). Even when sometimes I've doubted myself along the process, after I talk to Nafeez during our quick chats he gives the most real advice relating to my situation and that casts away my doubts. It's like a nice therapeutic session that motivates you to keep on going!

This company truly cares about having a relationship with their students and wanting the best for them! I've also sat in classes or worked with other instructors Nasheed, Erin, Tae, and Dylan and they are all very intelligent, quirky, and excellent teachers giving you the best quality teaching and consulting you need/want. Keep up the great work Sherpa Prep Team and thank you for truly investing in your students!

I am so incredibly grateful to Sherpa prep for helping me make sense of the monster that is the GMAT. Nafeez is an incredible teacher and Sherpa is an incredible company that breaks down the elements of the test into a way that is meaningful and digestible.

The Sherpa course is targeted and broken down to help students learn how to apply specific concepts on the test. Sherpa prep also provided me with tons of resources outside of coursework too, such as office hours, quick chats with Nafeez, and retaking the course, to help get me over the finish line. Taking the extra time with Sherpa was incredibly helpful and raised by target score by almost 100 points, allowing me to meet my goal.

If you are serious about the GMAT you should take the Sherpa prep course!!

I signed up for Sherpa specifically because it was highly recommended and the most affordable option. At that time I wasn't necessarily sure if I should be taking the GMAT or the GRE...so many business schools say they accept both and have no preference. On and off I tried to self-study for years and finally reached a point where I knew I needed the accountability of an in person class.

I ended up enrolling in GMAT prep with Sherpa and strongly suggest anyone who's considering an MBA to do the same. I could not have anticipated how challenging the entire process was going to be.

Initially,12 weeks seemed long...now, I actually wish the class was longer. There's a lot of homework, and it's really in your benefit to do as much of it as possible. I don't recommend you dive in looking for a little something extra to do. This class is intense. You need to dedicate a minimum of 10 hours/week outside of class. Throughout the class you're instructed to take practice exams, and I kid you not, you have to write your scratch paper a certain way and bring it in for review.

And your relationship with Sherpa continues after the class is over. You can go to Office Hours every Sunday from 6p-9p and ask questions that might have stumped you during your weekly study. I'm still focused on the exam side of things but plan on using the MBA admissions consulting, as well.

This experience was so personalized and an amazing value. I strongly recommend Nafeez and the Sherpa Team.

I can't recommend Sherpa Prep highly enough. I did a lot of research before choosing a GMAT prep course and I'm confident I couldn't have made a better choice.

Nafeez is a great instructor, and he and his team have created a high caliber course that includes their own supplementary material. Sherpa teaches simple strategies that I haven't been able to find taught anywhere else, and they work! There's no way this is replicated by any of the name brand prep companies and I've subsequently been able to improve my score by 110 points. Not to mention Nafeez also takes considerable time outside of class to personally work with each student until they are happy with their score, even after the course ends!

After all that, what Sherpa offers is still somehow significantly cheaper than anything their competitors offer. I've already recommended Sherpa to two of my friends who are currently enrolled in the course and they're equally as happy as I am. Taking a Sherpa course is really a no brainer if you have any ambitions to do well on the GMAT.

I highly recommend Sherpa's GMAT course and MBA Admissions consulting services. I took the course with Nafeez during Fall 2016 and was completely blown away. Nafeez is an amazing instructor. He is genuinely interested in the success of all of his students. The training materials provided throughout the course are helpful for those of us who haven't

Currently, Nafeez is helping me pull together my essays for Executive MBA programs. I am so grateful for his insight and advice on how to prepare a winning EMBA application.

Do yourself a favor and invest in Sherpa's program. You won't regret it!

I would wholehearted recommend Sherpa to anyone out there looking for a strong GMAT/EA prep course. After extensive due diligence, I used Sherpa for both my Executive Assessment prep and my Executive MBA Admissions consulting. I saw a dramatic difference between my output during the first cut when I tried to do it all myself and my post Sherpa self. Their teachers are very candid and constructive with their feedback and have strong communication and pedagogical skills. Sherpa's approach is holistic and isn't just limited to the material, but extends also how to effective time and anxiety management, two things that can negatively hinder your progress. On the consulting front, working with them helped refine my goals and helped me clearly articulate my position.

If you are looking for a great prep course with strong tutors who are able to help you either move up your score or improve your chances for admission, check out Sherpa!

I took the GMAT prep class with Erin. I was recommended by a friend (which actually got me a small discount on the price) who took it and had a good experience. Sherpa has their own curriculum which I found to be incredibly organized, logical, and straightforward in terms of structure. The price is very competitive for these types of services for an in-person class. We had a very small class size of 3 people (although other classes were as big as 12) which gave us a lot of one on one time with our instructor. Erin was very knowledgeable, helped set realistic expectations for myself, and offered guidance and support even after the class had ended in my final weeks leading up to the test. Erin definitely added a personal touch to his instruction style and was very approachable. He was always willing to re-explain concepts and offered office hours for extra help. Dude knows his stuff. Bottom line is, you will get out of it what you put into it. I can honestly say, I would not have come close to my final score if I had tried to form my own study plan.

I cannot express how helpful Nafeez and Sherpa Prep were in my GMAT preparation. I can honestly say that without Sherpa, I would not have performed as well as I could have on the exam.

I initially took the class over a year ago with every intention of taking the GMAT in 2016, but I ended up taking a new job putting the GMAT on the back burner. When I finally decided to take the exam, I contacted Nafeez and he picked up right where we left off and guided me through the process. Whether over the phone or video chat, Nafeez and the rest of the Sherpa prep team was there to answer my questions and give me the confidence I needed to take the exam.

Sherpa is very honest about what it takes to get the score you want on the GMAT and doesn't sugarcoat it. However, if you're able to put in the hours outside of the classroom and really go through the study materials, they will do anything and everything to get to you your goals. They give you everything you need to succeed if you're willing to put in the work.

I give Sherpa Prep and Nafeez my highest recommendation and if you are looking to maximize your score, I wouldn't look any further.

I cannot rave enough about Sherpa Prep. I literally just got off the phone with Nafeez because I still reach out to him on my GMATs and I ended the course back in June. Four months later and he still makes the time to talk to me. That in itself should show how much Sherpa Prep genuinely cares for each of their students' success.

I'm so close to my GMAT goal score that I'm taking it again, but since my first practice exam - which I had to take at the start of Sherpa Prep - I've gone up 130 points. I didn't even try studying for the GMATs on my own before signing up for classes because I knew classes would be more motivating. After researching, I came across Sherpa Prep and not only was it the cheapest price among all the GMAT tutoring services offered in DC but it also had (and still has) only five star reviews. Every review is spot on Sherpa Prep.

Sherpa teaches you how to think about problems differently. Each class is also really small on purpose so the instructors can give each and every student personalized attention. You're not going to magically go up in score by just attending the classes though, you have to put effort into your own studying on the days you don't have class and after the course is over. But studying actually becomes more fun... as crazy as that sounds... because it becomes a fun challenge since you actually understand the different techniques (or maybe that's just me).

Either way, if you're considering taking the GMATs and are looking for the right course for you - sign up with Sherpa. You will not be disappointed - I and the 100+ other reviewers can vouch for that.

Went with Sherpa for GMAT prep. The entire package was great.
1. The packets on each major topic were very comprehensive, offered deep insights, and generally helped me develop better number sense and strategy
2. The classroom sessions continued to blow my mind. I was continually surprised at not only how knowledgeable Nafeez was, but how simply he broke down seemingly complex topics and questions types.
3. Teaching/coaching/availability of the teachers to help you plan, critique schedules, or help your review problems you got wrong outside of class was instrumental in my success. I went to at least 5 weeks of office hours even after I had finished the program and had all my questions answered while getting to learn more from questions other students had as well.

I took the GMAT once before taking this class and took it again a couple months after the class. Needless to say my grasp of the format, content, and mental preparedness helped me get into the target range I was hoping to.

Update:
1. Accepted to USC Marshall Full-time MBA Fall 2018
2. Accepted to IE Business School in Madrid Spain, Full-time MBA Fall 2018

Sherpa Prep is a test taker's DREAM because of a several things, namely:

- Nafeez values developing personal relationships with his students to help them achieve  their academic and professional goals; although it may seem soft, his deep sense of empathy went a long way to helping me unlock my potential on the GMAT;

- The instruction is effective and detailed; I routinely learned information in far less time through Nafeez; and

- Study materials are robust and very well structured; there are a ton of questions with varying degrees of difficulty and there are YouTube videos that helped me unpack problems step by step.

I was introduced to Nafeez by a friend after completing (and being unhappy with) a class-based tutoring with a big name company in the DC area. I opted for a private GMAT package with Nafeez and could not be happier with my experience or results! When needed, I also sat in on several of his classes - gratis.

I always left our sessions feeling more and more confident about the GMAT. Between classes, Nafeez directs you to study specific topics, takes time to understand how you process and approach material, and teaches and offers corrective action. Because his instruction was so thorough, I was quickly able to connect the dots and improve my numbered quant score by nearly double digit points. He was able to effectively cover a great amount of material in class and individual sessions, which helped stretch and prepare me to successfully tackle the GMAT.

An added bonus was having Nafeez's deep insight on business school admissions. His understanding of the process, programs, and building a competitive package is a service that consultants charge thousands of dollars for. In every instance, he helped me play out scenarios to guide my decision-making, and his advice proved to be true across the board.

Sherpa Prep is truly superlative. Nafeez's unrelenting commitment, thoughtful yet candid approach, and vast knowledge were impactful differentiators. To find all three of those things in one company and tutor has been a blessing and I would recommend him and Sherpa to everyone I come across.

This fall I will be attending The Wharton School - and certainly have Nafeez to thank for his impressive knowledge, ability to teach effectively, and invaluable support!

Sherpa Prep is the best test prep company in DC. If you live in the DC area, Shera Prep is everything you need to prepare for the GMAT. Sherpa Prep is also the cheapest test prep class in the area. The instructors at Sherpa Prep distinguish themselves from instructors at other test companies by developing personal relationships with students, tailoring the course to the individual needs of each students, and developing a curriculum that offers unique and superior strategies. Some added benefits include free books, free study guides, free office hours, one-on-one meetings, etc. Nafeez and his team enabled me to increase my score from 710 to 760 and I will always be so grateful. I highly recommend Sherpa to everyone!!

Sherpa is unique. The company - like Nafeez - goes out of its way to be fair, honest, and thoughtful. In a time, and in a sector, in which scale and platitudes leave so many of us distrustful of overhyped, expensive 'help' or 'services,' Sherpa happily restores our faith and illustrates the real value of quality tutoring.

I truly enjoy the class. There is no way, given a difficult schedule and my preconceived notions about the material, that I would have spent as much thought and time and energy on GMAT prep as I have without Nafeez' guidance. Nafeez has managed to cultivate an incredible balance of methodology and expectations - informed by expertise and earned wisdom - that he employs without even a trace of condescension. I've honestly never had a teacher that so effectively merges those characteristics. It's remarkably effective and admirable. There is magic in his method, and I can only hope he aspires to replicate it at some scale.

The class is tough because the test is tough, but Nafeez and his manner make the class productive and valuable.

And, as though I couldn't sing any more praises about Nafeez and the Sherpa team, today I was accepted at Chicago Booth

No way it could've happened without Sherpa. They're hands down the best.

I took the GMAT course with Nafeez and I highly recommend it to anyone considering a GMAT prep course. It is a lot of work but there is no way I could have prepared myself as well without this course. Not only is the homework precisely targeted, the class sessions are extremely helpful. If you take the class I promise you will learn things about english grammar that less than 1% of the population know. There a clear pattern to the test that is not obvious until you have studied it for hours and Nafeez knows the test inside and out. To use a sports metaphor he truly is a "student of the game" and teaches test preparation perfectly, he knows the traps the test makers set and guides you around then. I personally increased by score by over 100 points and will be attending an Ivy league MBA program with a scholarship. I almost feel silly writing this review since there are already so many recent 5 star reviews but the class is just that good!

I took Sherpa Prep's GMAT class and cannot say enough praise of the quality of the overall program and of the instruction. All of the staff there - especially Nafeez, Jay, and Erin (I interacted with them most) - are genuinely committed to students' success. Their method of teaching and explaining concepts is extremely effective but lighthearted at the same time. Before taking this class I didn't know it if would be possible to get a competitive score on the GMAT given that I have a mostly social science background, but within just a few months of completing the class I was able to score over 700 on the test the first time I took it. I credit all of my progress to Nafeez and the other staff. If you're willing to put in the hours, they will make sure you succeed. I recommend Sherpa Prep to anyone considering taking the GMAT or GRE - I am confident that you will not be disappointed.

Sherpa Prep is amazing! For anyone considering taking the GMAT - take this class first! I thought I could buy a GMAT study book, take a few practice tests and be set. I was WRONG! Jay and Nafeez teach you to think logically about what the questions on this test are actually testing. This knowledge will allow you to attack the test in a whole new way. You will learn how to avoid trap answers, think through questions logically and make educated guesses, use techniques and "tricks" so as to avoid relying on memorizing formulas and using what you already know, and maximize the areas you already excel in to get the best score possible. Take the course, it's worth it and you most assuredly will not regret it!

I have recommended Sherpa Prep to all my friends who are thinking of taking the GMAT. Sherpa Prep is not only the best value you'll find, but I think it is also the best run course you can take. The teachers are amazing and really teach the material, not just tricks. As someone who is not naturally skilled at math, the classes were somehow enjoyable and I learned skills that I am using now in b-school. The class sizes are small and you get personalized attention. I really can't recommend this course enough. The teachers are patient and are really talented at teaching the concepts. My test score ended up improving by over 200 points. I was going to go to a local school, but I ended up getting into Indiana (with a merit based scholarship) and I have Sherpa Prep to thank for that. You will not regret going with Sherpa Prep.

I had the benefit of taking both SHERPA's GRE and GMAT courses and I couldn't be more happy with my test prep experiences! SHERPA's strengths are its small class sizes and powerhouse teachers. I worked with Jay, who wrote the course materials and understands these test like the back of his hand, and Nafeez- who manages to break-down complex concepts and still keep the classes fun. These guys are also incredibly dedicated to being available to answer questions, analyze practice exams, or tutor outside of class-which had a huge value-add that larger companies can't boast. I'm a return customer because SHERPA courses gave me the knowledge, skills and support I needed to excel at these exams. I can't recommend SHERPA highly enough!

I often tried to imagine this very moment about a year ago when I really started getting serious about going to grad school. You know, the feeling of being finished with the GMAT and on the road to success in your dream school. Everyone has their own vision of what that feels like but let me tell you it doesn't even begin to come close to the sense of accomplishment you get once you see your GMAT score pop up on the screen after 4 hours of wondering why in the heck did I pick A on question 7 or getting that acceptance letter in the mail from an illustrious university. Sherpa made that possible for me. I like many other aspiring graduate students was dreading the GMAT. Knowing that there was little chance of me doing well enough on my own, I began browsing the internet for a GMAT prep course but didn't want to spend the outrageous money Kaplan and the others were charging. Thus, I was naturally led to Sherpa whose extremely competitive price was the initial enticing factor. However, after reading review after review, I instantly got the feeling that Sherpa was much different from its competitors. I will never forget the first day of class I attended with Nafeez as my instructor. I sincerely felt as if my best friend was teaching the class and failure wasn't possible. Not only are the classes extremely engaging, they offer breaks at the right times and most importantly the instructors are always available to help you out with any problems you may be having trouble with via email outside of class. I'm not going to go into scores and such because I obviously received the score I needed to get into my dream school - The University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business, but I will say if you do the work they assign, you will have all the tools necessary to score in the 99 percentile. Not only did I learn what it took to do well on the GMAT, I learned skills that will stick with me for life. Not only did I have an instructor who genuinely cared about my success, I have a friend who recently emailed me just to see how I was doing. I am forever indebted to Sherpa. They made my dreams possible and I KNOW without a doubt they can do the same for you.

Jay, I wanted to check in with you and let you know that I took my GMAT yesterday, and I am very pleased with the results! My total score was 710, and I scored 47 on the math portion and 39 on the verbal portion. These scores are right on track with my target schools and I am happy to be done with the GMAT :) Thank you so much for your help and assistance, I am already recommending the Sherpa program to my friends who are also considering business school. I hope that you are settling into your new house and anxiously awaiting the arrival of your son (if he isn't here already?). Thanks again and enjoy the rest of the summer!

Martin, thank you for your class. It was amazing!!! I beat my goal of 650 and got a 670! A lot better than the 510 I started out with. Thank you again, I couldn't have done it with out you.

I'm a second time GMAT'er, and I feel like I learned more in class 1 than I did the entire time I was studying for the GMAT last spring!

I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed taking your class. You did a great job, not only explaining the material, but also motivating us to properly prepare for the test. I also really appreciate your availability to answer questions, especially via email. It's obvious you enjoy teaching and solving gmat problems, both of which you do well.I'm sure you already know all of this, but I just wanted to say thanks. I have been recommending the class to my friends.

I took the GMAT yesterday and got a 730!! I'm thrilled. The credit goes to you. It was by far the best investment I could have made. I will recommend your company to anyone I meet -- it was a phenomenal deal with incredible results. My instructor was patient yet firm, calm, focused, very knowledgeable, supportive, and excellent at conveying information in a way that was helpful for me. I give him and the class my highest recommendation. Thank you so much!

I was able to take the test yesterday in Baltimore (don't ask) and I got a 730! I am so happy. Thank you so much for all of your help, support, extra time both before and after class, jokes, etc, etc. Jay was an awesome instructor and I couldn't have done it without him. And it's a good thing you taught us that Pi equals 22/7 because that definitely came in handy during the test... Thank you again for everything and enjoy the holidays/break!

I had an absolutely amazing experience with Sherpa Prep. I took the GMAT test prep classes in Arlington with Martin and Jay. There were only three students total in my class and two instructors! On top of that, Martin and Jay have both been teaching GMAT for years, are extremely fluent in GMAT 'speak' and were extremely accommodating. When I couldn't make a session, they made it very easy for me to make it up at another location. In addition, they always answered my emails and phone calls promptly. Oftentimes I felt like I was getting one on one instructions. Most importantly, at Sherpa Prep, they don't just teach how to take a test, they teach you the CONTENT of the test with extremely thorough and unique instruction. I was shocked at the value of the course--what felt like personalized instruction, more classroom time than any of the other courses and about half the price of the other courses.

I just wanted you to know I scored a 730 (43 quant, 47 verbal). The first time I took the GMAT I scored a 560, so your course really helped me get there. I appreciate your efforts to meet outside of class, and your approach to dealing with the exam itself. Thanks again!

I got the 700 that I was looking for on the GMAT today! I really appreciate all the time and energy that you put into the class - I knew going in that your class would be heads and shoulders above the other review courses - you really came through - thanks again.

The class is absolutely the best out there. My instructor was Jay. He was extremely sharp but yet very down to earth and easy going. On top of that you can actually tell he likes teaching and is very knowledgeable about the entire MBA application process. I have highly recommended the program. It costs 1/3 of the price of the Kaplan one, but in reality it is much better. The only thing you are not getting is a fancy office or a lot of marketing.

Thanks for all of your help through this - Jay was one knowledgeable SOB!

Good news! I got into John Hopkins Carey and UNC Kenan-Flagler! I'm pretty set on going to UNC, they have an awesome program in sustainable enterprise (renewable energy, microfinance ect) which is my interest. I'm extremely excited! Thanks again for all you support with the GMAT prep, and really encouraging me! I've recommended your course to a few other friends of mine considering MBA schools, cause it's simply the best.

Just wanted to report back that I've completed the exam and got a 710! 45 Quant, 41 Verbal. I'm very pleased with that result – I almost screamed when the score popped up in the testing room! Thanks for all your prodding and support. I certainly wouldn't have done this well without your class. Any of your favorite bars sell gift cards?Figure that might be more easily portable than that case of beer I was talking about on Saturday...

I wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed your class. Jay has a quick wit, fabulous personality, amazing patience, and most of all really cares about his students. That above all else is evident.

I just finished and ended up scoring a 720 (47 on quant (78%) and 42 on verbal (95%)) - thank you SO much for all your help!!!

I forgot to tell you thanks for a great course. I took the GMAT on the 30th and got a 750. I don't have breakdown in front of me but I think it was 46Q and 49V. I definitely did better on verbal, which was surprising. Anyways just wanted to say thanks.

I took the test yesterday and scored a 680. I could not have done this well without your class. Thanks so much for all your efforts. I've been strongly recommending your class to my friends who are studying for it now.

This is Gina - from your August/September GMAT class...I didn't get a chance to email you before I left for Europe - which was truly an unbelievable trip and totally worth it!! - but I just got back on Saturday and I wanted to let you know about my GMAT score. I got 6s on the essays again and i scored a 640. I kind of laughed at the score because it was the score that you thought I might get. My verbal went to the 86 percentile and my math went to the 74 percentile – much improved from the 38 percentile that I was in the first time. So that's all for now - just wanted to let you know where I stand and say thanks for your help. I am VERY relieved that it is over - those few weeks before going to Europe were too intense!! :-)

I wanted to let you know that I was accepted into the UNC MBA program, I am over the moon! Thank you for everything you did to assist me in the prep for my GMAT.

I wanted to let you know that I got into Columbia, NYU and Wharton, all three schools to which I applied...NOT BAD!!!!! Thank you for all your help.

I wanted to touch base and let you know how my GMAT went! I am very satisfied with my scores!

Q 46 75%
V 31 58%
Total: 640

Thanks so much for all of your help! I really, really like the Sherpa program and would definitely recommend it to friends.

Thanks for the great class and all the help:

Overall, 740, 97%

And thanks for all the essay help too.  I just got that score and I received a 6.0! I'm on a high!

What are you waiting for?
